The 2026 Liaoning International Friendship Cities Conference opened in Shenyang on June 10. Hosted by the People’s Government of Liaoning Province and co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Provincial Government, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the conference themed Liaoning:Wisdom & Friendship Cities- Forward Together centers on international cooperation in education and science and technology. Nearly 300 guests from more than 50 countries gathered at the event to discuss cooperation opportunities and pursue shared development. As a representative university in Liaoning Province, LNPU was invited to the signing ceremony.
During the collective signing session of the conference, President Liu Jian and Rector Oleg Baulin of Ufa State Petroleum Technological University of the Russian Federation signed an educational cooperation agreement on-site. This signing marks a major pragmatic initiative of LNPU to actively respond to the call of the Year of Russian-Chinese Education and deepen higher education exchanges between China and Russia in the energy sector. It will help foster a new pattern of multi-level, wide-ranging and long-term China-Russia educational cooperation, advance mutual resource sharing, joint discipline development and joint talent training between the two sides, and deliver higher quality and more efficient progress in Sino-foreign cooperative education programs.
