On August 1, the "2024 International Forum on Green Development in Petrochemicals," was held in Tianjin. Chaired by Vice Rector Yang Zhanxu, the event saw the attendance of Rector Qian Jianhua, Hong Shicong (Director of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area), and over 160 participants from universities, enterprises, research institutes and government agencies.
Six academicians and experts gave keynote speeches, including Maksimov (Russian Academy of Sciences), Zhagfarov (Russian Natural Sciences Academy), Hu Yongkang (Chinese Academy of Engineering), Xu Chunming (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Dementev (Deputy Director of Russian Institute of Petroleum Chemical Synthesis) and Fan Xianfeng (University of Edinburgh). They shared cutting-edge research on petrochemical processes, green low-carbon development and new productivity technologies, providing insights into the industry’s sustainable transition.
The forum promoted extensive exchanges between attendees and experts, laying a foundation for future industry-academia-research cooperation.
Around the event, international experts also visited Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone, the Binhai Petrochemical Industry Research Institute and China Petrochemical Catalyst Company.
