Liaoning Petrochemical University was founded in 1950 in the beautiful city of Fushun, Liaoning Province. Over the past 69 years, it has grown into a comprehensive institution of higher learning, which is characterized by petroleum and chemical engineering with a combined course system ranging from engineering, science, economics, management, humanities, laws, education to art. It has more than 18,000 students studying at different levels of doctoral programs, postgraduate programs, second-bachelor-degree programs, undergraduate program, and programs for higher education for overseas students together with adult learners. The faculty number totals 950 members, among whom are 416 professors, associate professors or advanced professional technicians.
With its emphasis on teaching and scientific research, the university also stresses the importance of international academic communication, scientific research cooperation as well as the education of overseas students studying here. It is increasingly active in its development of exchanges and cooperation with the outside world, and has established educational and cooperative relationships with 47 institutions of higher learning from countries like America, Britain, Japan, Russia, Canada, Norway, Finland, and South Korea.
To accelerate the development and progress of Liaoning Petrochemical University, and improve the foreign language competence in our students so as to upgrade their comprehensive proficiency in foreign language, we hereby earnestly invite ESL teachers from English-speaking countries.
We prefer teachers who will work here are native English speakers, healthy and younger than 60, with some ESL teaching experience, willing to teach at our university for at least 10 months from September 1st to June 30th the next year. A bachelor degree is the minimum qualification, and of course higher degrees are highly valued.
Courses to teach here are Spoken English for graduate students of engineering or bachelor students of business administration / English language, American Literature / Western Culture / English linguistics for bachelor students of the English language, Extensive Reading for graduate students of sciences, etc. Teaching hours will be 14 hours per week and class sizes average 30 students.
We provide ESL teachers with a monthly payment of RMB 6000 Yuan, together with a return air ticket, free medical care, and a free apartment which is fully furnished and air-conditioned with a bath and shower, a kitchen, a sitting-room, a study and a bedroom. Also available is a spacious brightly lighted reading room for our ESL teachers use only, where a variety of journals, periodicals, references and a PC terminal together create effective working conditions for our foreign teachers.
Prospective ESL teachers who wish to join us are expected to prepare the following materials: resume, one original reference from professors or employers, one copy of Degree Certificate, one copy of ESL or other English Language Teaching Qualification Certificate and one copy of Health Certificate.
